The Chicago Sail & Power Squadron is celebrating its 64th year of providing public services to the maritime community.

CS&PS was chartered in 1945 as a unit of the United States Power Squadrons. Organized in 1914, USPS is a non profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects. Our members are boating families who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating through education. We enjoy participating with our fellow members on the water and in the classroom.

USPS has some 45,000 members organized into 450 squadrons across the country and in some US territories. USPS is America's largest non-profit boating organization and has been honored by three US presidents for its civic contributions.

Our mission is to bring information regarding boating topics and boating safety to the general public and offer extended training to our members. Due to the size of USPS we can offer reduced insurance rates and other exclusive member benefits. Extensive Benefits list (History links: USPS, District 20, Chicago Power Squadron)

CS&PS has equal representation of powerboaters, personal water craft (PWC) owners, recreational fishermen and sailboaters with all levels of experience, first timers, life long boaters and Certified Instructors.
